Shaadi.com and Naukri including, Alt Balaji, Naukrigulf, 99acres, and Shiksha, are back on the Google Play store
Google has decided to remove some Indian apps from the Play Store. Google’s decision was first protested by the company’s CEO and founder, and then the government also protested. Google has since reversed its decision to remove many apps, including Shaadi.com.
In fact, in the news on Friday night, Google said that it has decided to remove 10 Indian applications from the Play Store. These include names like Shaadi.com, Naukri.com, 99 Acres, and more. The company also warned some application developers last year.
Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has since protested Google’s decision. It is also said that uninstallation of the application will not be allowed. The government also held a meeting with Google and app owners to resolve the dispute, but before the meeting, Google withdrew its decision. Ashwini Vaishnav told PTI that entrepreneurship is important for the Indian economy.
What was the whole matter?
According to the press release, the issue has nothing to do with the payment of service fees. After this, Google decided to remove the applications from the platform. In fact, many startups don’t want to pay what Google does, so they don’t pay. However, the issue also reached the Supreme Court.
Google had to face criticism
Many people criticized Google’s decision. Kuku FM CEO Lal Chand Bishu shared on the X platform (formerly Twitter) and criticized Google and said that its decision was wrong. Sanjeev Bikhchandani, founder of Naukri.com and 99acres, also expressed his displeasure with Google through the advertisement.
